On the eighth week of classes, the animal that came to Peter, was much smaller than the Dinosaur -the Therizinosaurus, but no less fast. Here he met an African Ostrich, which was known as the ‘rocket of the desert’. Even now till this day the Ostrich could not stand still. He bolted quickly into the room, and then quickly flew away. He ran straight back in and shouted, “Hello, Peter! Today I am bringing you your next Musical Health Gift. Actually I’m not bringing it to you, rather I’m bringing you to the street to experience it! We’re going to have an Ostrich race! Usually, running is for the older kids, but I know you can do it! Try to chase me!” said the Ostrich
Peter, dashed out of the house like a bullet and ran after the Ostrich. But when he looked around, he was not there. The Ostrich had already gone. After a while, the Ostrich returned and said, “Come on! It’s time to start moving. Call your friends and family. They can tap the drums to set the pace for our song. How about a game called ‘Ostrich and Lynx’. First, I will portray the Lynx, then you do the same. The winner is the one who manages to escape as far as possible from the Lynx. So you’re going to have to run fast enough to escape me!” Just then the Ostrich song started.

Ostrich is here. But now I fear, an evil lynx just caught sight, he gave the ostrich a fright!
So he runs! So he runs! So he runs! He is running running running from the lynx! Yes he runs! Yes he runs! So he runs! He is running running running from the lynx!
As he runs away from his enemy, he really is in such a big hurry! He is running running running running really really very very fast!
So he runs! So he runs! So he runs! He runs and runs so he can win the race. So he runs! So he runs! So he runs! He will surely surely surely win the race!
As he runs away from his enemy, he is really is in such a big hurry! He is running running running running really really very very fast!
We know the ostrich has to win the race. He is the only one with such a pace! Always running running running running really really very very fast!
As always following the songs Viola, the daughter of music appeared to make an announcement.
“Today we will perform the eighth magic of music – The Magic of the Orchestra.
So far we’ve learned that music can be vocal, danceable and instrumental and that these different kinds of songs are performed by various instruments of the orchestra. Could you make your own orchestra? See if you can come up with musical instruments from things you can find in your house. Once you find your own home instruments, we can call your family and friends in. I will turn on my song again, so you can accompany it with your very own orchestra, for which you can be the conductor.” Smiled Viola.
“Who is a conductor?” Peter asked.
“The conductor is the one who directs all the musicians in the orchestra. Either with his hands or with a special conductor’s baton, he shows the musicians when they need to start playing, at what tempo to play and how to express the music.”
After that, the Ostrich gave Peter some time to go around his house gathering objects to create instruments for his home orchestra. Peter managed to invent a number of different kinds of instruments: From pots he made drums that could be beaten with a soup spoon.
From glasses of water, he made them filled to different degrees and skimmed their rims to play different pitches of melody. He poured cereals into plastic bottles, and shook them to make excellent maracas. He created these and many more other homemade instruments. When his friends and family came over, the Ostrich song came on and he got everyone to play along on the instruments of his full-fledged homemade orchestra!
The orchestra, was conducted by Peter who together with his family and friends were playing so loudly that they barely heard the familiar sound of Viola’s bell. As always, Viola congratulated Peter for learning yet another secret of music – The eighth magic of music – The Magic of the Orchestra.
Peter pulled out his Book of Musical Health, he made a drawing of an Ostrich and put it inside. He looked happily at his collection of drawings and costumes, and created a simple Ostrich suit with long legs and wrote on it ‘running clothes.’ He loved running with the Ostrich so much that he set a time every morning to go out and run in his ostrich costume.
Listen to the song and draw an Ostrich.
